Today the Parliament has demonstrated its ability to adopt important decisions.
Verkhovna Rada Chairperson Volodymyr Groysman said this live on TV channel "112 Ukraine" on Tuesday.
"This very Parliament is capable of adopting decisions, though it was as hard as it was, - said Volodymyr Groysman. - Today we had a lot of debates, a variety of ideas, there were issues that split the session hall, but I am confident that if we have not voted on some questions today, we will surely do this tomorrow or the day after tomorrow."
"It was a hard, not easy, but a very fruitful day, ' said Volodymyr Groysman. - We have adopted all of required laws from today's agenda concerning introduction of the visa-free regime, and we came close to consideration of important issues, including on a lower natural gas rent, we have prolonged the moratorium on the sale of farmland."
The Parliament has also set a date for local elections in Mariupol and Krasnoarmiisk where they did not occur on October 25, Groysman noted. "We had no right to restrict the right of people to elect," he said.
In this context Volodymyr Groysman noted that the texts of the laws would be sent to European partners of Ukraine for assement of their meeting European directives. "As soon as it happens I will sign them immediately and will send them to the President for signing, he said. - If we see a certain provision does not comply with the European directives, we have opportunities to introduce required changes to correct a possible mistake if this mistake was made by committees." "But I want to believe that everything will be absolutely fine and we will be able to continue the process regarding obtaining the right to visa-free regime," said Verkhovna Rada Chairperson Volodymyr Groysman.
Voilodymyr Groysman regretted the Verkhovna Rada's having failed to adopt a decision on Tuesday on the question of cutting the natural gas rent. He noted that a compromise decision was achieved to consider the issue on Thursday. "Tomorrow there will be serious consultations of the Government with political factions, experts so that the law on cutting the natural gas rent would be adopted on Thursday and would meet two conditions: firstly, it is essential reduction in the price of natural gas for people, secondly, in this rather sensistive question it should not play into the hands of clans of oligarchs involved in the gas business."
